Holly Blue (Celastrina argiolus) |
| This small blue woodland butterfly is easily identified by its pale silvery-grey underwing. They have been recorded on the reserve in small numbers during April and May but are more likely to be seen later in the year (July and August) when they are more abundant. Adults can often be found fluttering around shrubs and trees such as holly or buckthorn, on which their larvae feed. |
