Dingy Skipper (Erynnis tages)

This is typically a small dark brown butterfly with white marginal spots on both the upper and underwing, the latter being paler brown than the upperwing, which has pale grey marbling on the forewing.
The preferred habitat of this butterfly is flowery banks especially on calcareous soils. A single specimen was recorded by P. Carter in May 1990 during the usual flight period of May to June.
