Systematic Checklist of Birds



The table below shows a systematic list of all the bird species (including some sub-species) recorded at Attenborough Nature Reserve. The following abreviations are used to indicate the status of each species on the reserve:

R - Resident
PM - Passage migrant
S - Summer visitor
O - Occasional visitor
W - Winter visitor


C - Common : 50 + annual records
Sc - Scarce : 10 - 24 individuals annually
V - Vagrant : single or infrequent records over the last 30 years
U - Uncommon : 25 - 49 individuals annually
Ra - Rare : 1 - 9 individuals annually
B - Breeds or has bred on the reserve
F - Indicates probable feral birds
